Health and Safety Policy

1. Introduction

Geviton is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors. This Health and Safety Policy outlines the company’s approach to ensuring the well-being of all personnel across our offices, labs, and manufacturing facilities.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all Geviton employees, interns, contractors, and visitors, and covers all workplace activities conducted on company premises, offsite locations, and project sites.

3. Health and Safety Objectives

  • Prevent workplace injuries and illnesses

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations

  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and personal responsibility

  • Identify and mitigate hazards through continuous risk assessment

4. Responsibilities

4.1 Management

  • Ensure safe work practices and procedures are in place and followed

  • Allocate resources for training, equipment, and hazard mitigation

  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments

  • Investigate all accidents and implement corrective actions

4.2 Employees

  • Follow all safety instructions, policies, and procedures

  • Use protective equipment and safety gear provided

  • Report unsafe conditions, near misses, or accidents immediately

  • Participate in safety training and drills

4.3 Health and Safety Officer (if designated)

  • Oversee the implementation of safety programs

  • Maintain safety documentation and incident reports

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies where necessary

5. Workplace Safety Practices

5.1 Hazard Identification and Control

  • Regular inspection of work areas

  • Use of hazard signage and safe operating procedures

  • Risk assessments conducted prior to new projects or equipment use

5.2 Emergency Preparedness

  • Emergency exits and evacuation plans must be clearly marked

  • Fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and PPE must be available and functional

  • Regular fire and emergency evacuation drills must be conducted

5.3 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Employees must wear appropriate PPE such as gloves, safety goggles, lab coats, or ear protection as required

  • PPE must be maintained in good condition and replaced as necessary

6. Health and Wellness

6.1 Medical Emergencies

  • First aid responders must be designated per department

  • Emergency contacts and procedures must be visible and up to date

  • Injured employees will be escorted to appropriate medical facilities

6.2 Occupational Health

  • Workstations must be ergonomically designed

  • Noise, lighting, air quality, and temperature will be monitored and controlled

  • Vaccinations or health checks may be required for employees in high-risk roles

7. Incident Reporting and Investigation

  • All incidents, injuries, or near misses must be reported immediately to a supervisor or safety officer

  • An incident report must be completed within 24 hours

  • Investigations will determine root causes and recommend corrective actions

  • Lessons learned will be shared with all relevant departments

8. Training and Awareness

  • All new employees must receive health and safety induction training

  • Refresher training will be conducted annually or when significant changes occur

  • Specialized safety training will be provided based on role (e.g., lab safety, electrical safety)

9. Compliance and Disciplinary Action

  • Non-compliance with this policy may result in disciplinary measures, including warnings, suspension, or termination

  • Intentional violations that risk harm to others may be subject to legal action

10. Review and Amendments

This policy will be reviewed annually, or following a major incident, to ensure its continued effectiveness and compliance with regulatory updates. Any changes will be communicated to all staff.
