1. Introduction
Geviton Enterprises Ltd. is committed to minimizing the environmental impact of its operations and products through responsible waste management. As an Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) in electronics, telematics, and energy management, we recognize the importance of reducing waste generation, promoting reuse and recycling, and ensuring the safe and ethical disposal of all waste materials.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all waste generated by Geviton’s operations, including manufacturing, assembly, product testing, packaging, administrative activities, and product end-of-life. It covers all employees, contractors, suppliers, and third parties involved in waste generation, handling, or disposal on behalf of Geviton.
3. Principles
Geviton adheres to the following principles for effective waste management:

4. Waste Management Elements and Controls

Source Reduction: Implement strategies to reduce waste generation at its source during product design, manufacturing processes, and administrative activities.

Lean Manufacturing Principles: Apply lean principles to identify and eliminate waste in production processes.
4.2 Reuse

Internal Reuse: Encourage the reuse of materials, components, and packaging within Geviton’s operations where feasible and safe.

Battery Repurposing: Actively pursue and promote the repurposing of batteries from our energy management solutions and other sources.
4.3 Recycling and Recovery

Waste Segregation: Implement clear and accessible waste segregation systems.

Recycling Programs: Establish and maintain robust recycling programs for all recyclable materials generated.
4.4 Hazardous Waste Management

Identification and Classification: Accurately identify, classify, and quantify all hazardous waste streams generated (e.g. certain electronic components, batteries).

Safe Handling and Storage: Implement strict procedures for the safe handling, labeling, and storage of hazardous waste to prevent spills, leaks, and exposure.

Communicate Geviton’s waste management expectations to suppliers and contractors.

Encourage suppliers to minimize packaging waste and to adopt sustainable waste management practices in their own operations.
5. Employee Responsibilities
All Geviton employees are responsible for:

Understanding and strictly adhering to waste segregation guidelines and procedures.

Minimizing waste generation in their daily activities.

Reporting any waste management concerns, spills, or non-compliance immediately to their supervisor or the designated environmental team.
6. Review and Update
This Waste Management Policy will be reviewed and updated regularly, or as needed, to reflect changes in Geviton’s operations, waste streams, technological advancements in waste management, and evolving environmental regulations.
